Sealed Glass Units
We use the term Double-Glazed Units and Triple-Glazed Units.
At its most basic a Double-Glazed Unit will consist of two pieces of glass seperated by a spacer bar which denotes the thickness of the cavity. By using three panes of glass and two spacers we can make a Triple-Glazed unit.
Glass Type
A wide choice of glass thicknesses and glass types are available for safety, privacy, security and decorative.
Spacer Bar
The units incorporate a spacer bar in a choice of colours, widths and thermal values, the void in the middle of the spacer bar contains a drying agent to dry the air between the panes after manufacture.
Gas Filling
Gasses can be added to the cavity during manufacture, for added thermal values and noise insulation properties.
Sealant
Some double-glazed units have only one seal, ours have two, the primary seal which acts as a thermal barrier between the spacer and the glass as well as sealing, followed by the secondary seal... a two part sealant, this seal can withstand a wide range of temperatures and can be used with confidence for cladding panels, structural and roof glazing.
